Abstract

One of the most important factors regulating oral health is saliva.
To create a basis of for the use of Caries Activity Test in clinical preventive dentistry, the 120 persons were devided into four groups of primary school children and university student of males and females were analyzed the salivary flow rate,
pH,
lactobacillus and yeast count and their relationships.
@ES The following results were obtained:
@EN 1. The salivary flow rate was in both age groups slightly higher in males than in females
2. The correaltion between pH and lactobacilli, lactobacilli and yeasts was significant in 11-14 age group.
3. The correaltion between salivary flow rate and lactobacilli, -lactobacilli and yeasts was significant in 23-27 age group.
4. The correlation between lactobacilli and yeast was highly significant in both age groups.
